  1. Health and Safety policy

To Identify and explain the importance of key ‘Humans Resource’ policies, A micro business owner has different duties and requirements to reconcile. One of the legally binding tasks is the management of health and security arrangements. Health and safety policies must not be complex but constantly prioritized (Tombs and Whyte, 2012), given that there might be significant costs for violating safety and health. The legislation states that each company must have a health and safety management policy. A health and safety policy provides a broad health and safety strategy. It describes how an entrepreneur manages safety and health in any company. It should be obvious who is doing what, when and how. It is important to introduce a policy book on whether the enterprise has more or fewer than five employees. The company owners should discuss with their staff the policy and any modifications. According to HSE (2019), any business intending to start in the UK market must comply with the following basics.

First of all, the owners have to decide who is responsible for the health and safety of the company. They will next develop a health and safety policy based on a risk assessment that identifies potential hazards. Next, employees are to be shown and told about safety and health. If necessary, appropriate training and exercises should be offered to the employees. First aid facilities are required in the workplace. Safety information must be published on the wall.

Health and safety in corporate entities significantly reduce employee diseases and injuries. These processes can enable companies and employees to recognize the possible dangers in the workplace. Training is vital and useful, as it will teach staff on appropriate working practices, conduct and protocols to minimize potential injury or infection from poor hygiene. Indeed, compensating for injuries and diseases associated with work may adversely influence the company’s profitability, which is one significant reason why health and safety policies are important to implement. The health and safety guidelines that are incorporated into the business procedures assures the employees that there are safe and protected within the environment in which they are expected to work. The lack of proper guidelines and review of the safety of the workplace can have detrimental effects on the business.

  1. Equality and diversity policies

To Identify and explain the importance of key ‘Humans Resource’ policies, Usually, companies are aware of the legalities stating that they must not adversely treat workers on specific grounds, such as gender or ethnicity. The idea is equality and discrimination. Contrarily, diversity may be a notion that is less well known (Walsh, 2007). Diversity is acknowledging that people are diverse and appreciating them, regardless of background and varied needs, as individuals. The substance of the act of equality and diversity is thus to accommodate differences whenever feasible. The promotion of equality and diversity, therefore, means that the obligations of the Equality Act 2010 are more than just addressed (Walsh, 2007). The recognition demands that individuals from diverse backgrounds may contribute new ideas and insights to an organization that can make it more efficient.

Equality and diversity may play an important role in changing present and future business demands. Although not mandated under law, major benefits and good reasons exist for organizations to establish a policy on equal opportunities and diversity. The efficiency of the utilization of human resources is increased by promoting equality and diversity at work. It guarantees that there is no less favourable treatment of employees or job seekers as a matter of gender, race, etc. It raises awareness of the jobs of minority groups, such as persons with disabilities. Finally, via the complaints system, the organization and its staff can successfully deal with all cases of unfair dismissal. The many benefits achieved from maintaining and encouraging equality in the workplace, demonstrates the importance it has.
